1999 Senior Better Ball

Santee: 

Steve Roach of Florence and Phil McDilda of Conway managed to hold onto a first round lead
and win the 27th Annual Senior Better Ball. Roach and McDilda had a second of consecutive day
of good play to edge out the Columbia team of Bill Higgins and Billy Stork by one shot.  Ross
and David Horton shot the lowest round of the day on Sunday to win the First Flight by one shot
over Monty Chamberlain and George Thorton of Columbia.  There was a three way tie betwen
the teams of Rufus Hackney and Jared Turner of Florence, James Padgett and Raomin Nix of
Anderson and Seneca, and Paul Fann and Bob Snow of Hartsville, all shot two day totals of 153.

The 27th Senior Better Ball was held at Santee Cooper Country Club in Santee, SC.  50 teams
competed over the par 72, 6,100 yard golf course.
