Reynolds Tames Hillcrest

On a nice day 45 players participated in the SCGA One-Day Event at Hillcrest Golf Club. Taking the senior victory for the event was Danny Reynolds from Lancaster Golf Club. He toured the 5,807 yard par 72 golf course in 69 shots to take a 1 stroke victory over the Country Club of Orangeburg’s, Bobby Gause. Two closest to the pins were awarded for the event. On hole #8 Jim Morgan of Wrenwoods Golf Club was the closest to the pin and on hole #16 Stew Butler of the Country Club of Orangeburg had the closest shot of the day.

The winner for the "A" Flight for the event was Ray Ackerman from Lancaster Golf Club who shot a gross 81, net 70. The "B" Flight was won by Gerald Richards of Stono River Golf Club, who fired an 81 while getting 19 strokes, net 62. Richard Ruonala also of Stono River, placed 1st in the "C" Flight with a gross score of 86 net 64. The title of the "D" Flight was awarded to William Foiles of Fort Jackson Golf Club, who toured the course in 94 shots, but with his handicap scored a net 63.
