Orcutt Wins Stoney Point

Ken Orcutt from Stoney Point had a back-nine 32, and a round of two-under 70, to win the SCGA Senior One-Day at Stoney Point October 2nd. Joe Frye, a genuine age 70 plus senior from Three Pines, tied Orcutt, who is still in his fifties, but the blistering pace set by Orcutt on the back nine, including an eagle on the last hole, won the playoff.

Jon Groteluschen, from Cedar Creek, posted a 71, and was in the race until the last hole.

Eddie Collins, a 24-handicapper from Aiken, added spice to the tournament with a hole-in-one on the short 13th. His ball appeared to be close, but not in. While fellow competitor Randy Clarke’s shot was still in the air, Eddie’s ball disappeared, into the hole, thanks to a gust of Lake Greenwood wind.
