Todds Dominate to Finish First, Second
The father-son duo of T.D. & Thomas Todd put Mother Nature’s thundering warnings aside as well as the rest of the field to win the 41st edition of the SCGA Father-Son Championship at a blistering score of nine under par 63. The team carded eight birdies and two eagles, including one on the par five final hole, to remove all doubt and declare the championship as their own.
Coming in second was the other Todd team of father Walter and son Walt, as they also had one of a handful of scores under par at 67. Defending champions, Steve and Chase Liebler finished tied for third at even par. The format was select drive, alternate shot.
The 2008 SCGA Father-Son Championship was conducted on The
Windermere Club, a par 72, 6,532 yard Pete & P.B. Dye design, nestled in
Blythewood, South Carolina. The Father-Son Championship is part of a 19 event
major tournament schedule conducted by the South Carolina Golf Association.
