11th Annual Mixed Team Championship
Hampton Hall Club - Bluffton, SC

Temperatures in the high 40s and windy conditions greeted
the Championship Division players at Hampton Hall Club for their final rounds of
the SCGA-WSCGA Mixed Team Championship. Aikinites, Chad and Kadi Meldrum kept
their cool in the very tough alternate shot format used for the second round.
Chad, 32, and Kadi, 30, used 5 birdies in route to a one over par 73 for a two
day total of 143. The Meldrums claimed a two shot victory over first round
leaders, Steve Agazzi and Sara Younginer, and also Shawn and Lea Venable who
shot final rounds of 76 and 74 respectively.
While the temperatures rose, the morning winds did not change for the Senior Division players for their afternoon round. As with the Championship Division, the second round format was modified alternate shot. First round leaders 55 year old Ashley Rose and 61 year old Bob Rickman both of North Augusta used three birdies to offset one bogey and a double bogey for a final even par round of 72. Their two day 142 total was two shots clear of Sybil and Kurt Davis and Sally Papineau and Gary Shimmin.

Carolina Golf Association.
