Champions Crowned at WSCGA-SCGA Mixed Team Championship

North Augusta, SC (Oct. 23, 2022) – Final results of the 24th Annual WSCGA-SCGA Mixed Team Championship hosted by the Mount Vintage Golf Club (Chester/Vintage) in North Augusta, SC on Sunday, October 23, 2022.

The team of Catherine Shealy (Blythewood) and Freddy Henriquez (Blythewood) along with the team of Jeanie Atkinson (Columbia) and Rich Houghton (Elgin) both are victorious in their respective divisions to become 2022 Champions at the 24 th  Annual WSCGA-SCGA Mixed Team Championship being held at Mount Vintage Golf Club (Chester/Vintage) in North Augusta, SC. 

 

In the Championship Division, Shealy and Henriquez finished with a tournament total of two under par 142 to claim the top honors by two shots. Finishing in a two-way tie for second was the team of Nabila Inak (Columbia) and Spencer Skiff (Columbia) along with the 2021 Mixed Team Champion team of Meredith Taylor (Lexington) and Donald Taylor (Columbia). Both teams finished with a tournament total of even par 144. 

 

In the Senior Division, Atkinson and Houghton claimed top honors after finishing with a tournament total of even par 144. Finishing in solo second place was the team of Natalie Huff (Elgin) and Danny Stubbs (Columbia) with a tournament total of 145. 

 

The Championship Division and Senior Divisions were flighted based on first round scores. The Championship Division had two flights and the Senior Division was split into three flights.

The 2022 WSCGA/SCGA Mixed Team Championship was played at the Mount Vintage Golf Club – Chester & Vintage Courses. The field consisted of 48 man & woman teams playing a Best Ball format the first day and a Select Drive-Alternate Shot format the second day. The Mixed Team Championship is in its 24th year of existence.
