At the heart of what the SCGA does is provide a multitude of Tournaments & Events for the members of our Association. Our event schedule runs year round and includes opportunities for the scratch golfer to the not-so-scratch golfer. The highlight of the year for the South Carolina Golf Association comes in August with our State Amateur Championship. A contingent of 400-500 golfers try and qualify for the chance to become the State's top Amateur. A long list of other Championship events gives everyone from the Junior ranks to the Seniors a chance to be the best among their peers.
In an attempt to offer a wide array of Tournaments to all of our membership, the SCGA conducts over 80 One Day Net tournaments across the State. These events are geared towards the net player and offer a chance for competition at a minimal cost. In this same category includes one of our most popular events, the Forty Plus Series. Started in 1999, the Forty Plus series consist of a competitive atmosphere for golfers over the age of 40 at some of the top venues in the State.
As an arm of the United States Golf Association and the governing body of golf in South Carolina, the SCGA also conducts eight USGA Championship Qualifiers throughout the year.
