Together for Victory
The
father-son duo of Walter and Walt Todd (Laurens) teamed together to shoot nines
of 34-26 for a seven under par 60 and are now the 43rd Championship team of the
SCGA Father-Son Championship. The victory marks the elder Todd’s first SCGA
Father-Son Championship, which he played in as a youngster with his father,
Thomas D. Todd in 1977.
Coming in a tie for second were the defending champions Rob and Crawford Reeves
(Greenville), and T.D. and Thomas Todd (Laurens) at three under par 64. The
Windermere Club played as a par 67 due to the par five eighteenth hole being
under construction. The format was select drive, alternate shot.
The 2010 SCGA Father-Son Championship was conducted on The Windermere Club, a
Pete & P.B. Dye design, nestled in Blythewood, South Carolina. The Father-Son
Championship is part of a 19 event major tournament schedule conducted by the
South Carolina Golf Association.
