Camden Team Runs Away with Lathrop Cup
The Camden Country Club team of Vic Hannon, Jimmy Burgess and Bob Stringer
claimed the 3rd Annual Lathrop Cup by six shots with a total of four over par
220. Camden won the Inaugural Lathrop cup in 2008 when they were the host club.
For the second year in a row, The Golf Club of Star Fort captured the Pro-Am
portion of the event with a total of 132. The Star Fort team consisted of Lewis
Rollins, Frank Williams, Dale Jones and was captained by Head Professional Tommy
Pendley.
The 2010 SCGA Lathrop Cup was played on the par 72, Reserve Club at Woodside
Plantation in Aiken, SC. The field consisted of 21 teams playing in both the
Lathrop Cup and the Lathrop Cup Pro-Am. The Lathrop Cup is comprised of three
amateurs over the age of 55 to compete for the Senior Club Championship of South
Carolina. The Lathrop Cup is named after long time SCGA Executive Director Happ
Lathrop and is one of 19 Major Championships conducted by the South Carolina
Golf Association.
