Two Teams Tied at the Top
The teams of Matt Laydon and Caulder Moore and Robert and David Dargan are tied
for the lead in the SCGA’s 18th Annual Partners Championship. Both teams had
birdies filling the card as they went low with scores of ten under par 62.
Close on their heels however and setting up what should be a great final round
are five other teams at 63.
In the Tournament Division there are two teams tied for first with a score of
eight under par 64. Easley’s Todd Garrett and Mike Rogers along with the 2008
Partners Champions of Stephen Kirven and Ken Carter both hold a slim one shot
lead. Kevin Hester of Blythewood and Dan Sullivan from Columbia are one shot
back at 65.
The 2010 SCGA Partners
Championship is played over two golf courses, the par 72 – 6,665 yard Spring
Valley CC course in Columbia, S.C and the par 72- 6,686 yard Members Club at
Woodcreek Farms course in Elgin. The field consisted of 82 two-man teams split
into two different Divisions based on handicap, the Championship Division and
the Tournament Division. Each division is playing a Captains Choice format the
first day and a Best Ball format the second while alternating courses each day.
The Partners Championship is one of 19 Major Championships conducted annually by
the South Carolina Golf Association.
