First Round leaders prevail in Playoff
The second SCGA four ball event of this month went into another playoff as first round leaders Stephen Fowler (Murrells Inlet) and Tee Opperman (Pawleys Island) defeated Spring Valley members Gus Sylvan and Tom Kennaday (both of Columbia) on the second hole of sudden death. Twenty-nine year old Tee Opperman rolled in a clutch 6 foot birdie putt on the par five 9th hole for victory. Sylvan and Kennaday had tied the low round of the day with an eight under par 64 and were the leaders in the clubhouse until Fowler and Opperman posted a six under par 66. Both teams finished regulation at fourteen under 130.
Tyler Macolly (Spartanburg) and Todd Webber (Moore), who posted the first 64 of the day, took top honors in the First Flight with a two day total of 9 under par 135. Kyle Milner and Timothy Pope (both of Spartanburg) won the Second Flight with a two day total of four under par 140.

Players Four Ball Championship is one of 19 major championships conducted by the
South Carolina Golf Association. The 26th Annual event was played on the 6,665
yard, par 72 golf course at Spring Valley Country Club in Columbia, SC.
