Meldrums Clinch Another Title
The husband & wife team of Chad & Kadi Meldrum shot a final round of 73 for a
two day total of 141 and two shot victory to claim their second Mixed Team
Championship title. Playing an alternate shot format, the Aiken team managed to
make three bogies and one birdie to edge out the second place team of Lea Anne
Brown and Tom Bullock. The Meldrums won their first Mixed Team Title in 2009.
In the First Flight of the Championship Division, there was a two way tie for
first place between Chris & Liz Scheuer and Danny Stubbs & Natalie Huff at 150.
Bob Rickman & Karen Ferree shot a three under par score of 140 to win the Senior
Division Championship by one shot over John Hencken and Jennifer Adams. Charles
Gibbs and Teddy Stockwell of Johns Island captured the First Flight with a total
of 154 and Ronnie and Donnie Hutto claimed the Second Flight by two shots with a
score of 163.
The 2011 WSCGA/SCGA Mixed Team Championship was played at the Hampton Hall Club
and Pinecrest Golf Club in Bluffton, S.C. The field consisted of 74 man & woman
teams playing a Best Ball format the first day and a Select Drive Alternate shot
format the second day. Teams that played at one course the first day played the
other respective course on Sunday
