Lutomski Victorious at Dunes West Forty Plus Event

Robert Lutomski of Simpsonville was victorious at the second SCGA 40 Plus Series event of 2022 that was contested on Monday, February 7th, 2022 at the Dunes West Golf Club, after a round of two under par 70. Matt Wood (Hanahan) finished alone in second place after a round of even par 72.

In the Tournament Net Division, Adam Walker (Charleston) captured the victory with a net score of 73.

In the Senior Gross Division, Ron Clontz (Greer) stood atop the leaderboard after a one over par round of 73. There was a three-way tie for second between Doug Ramey (Greer), Mike Caprio (Greer), and Duff Wagner (Taylors) after each finished with a two over par round of 74.

In the Senior Net Division, there was a two-way tie for first between Douglas Cromer (Columbia) and Dennis Guerriero (Lexington). Cromer and Guerriero finished with two under par net rounds of 70.  

Charlie Hall (Bluffton) captured the Super Senior Gross Division after a one over par round of 73. Finishing two shots off of the lead was Robin Alley (Columbia) with a gross score of 75.

In the Super Senior Net Division, Fred Hyde (Mount Pleasant) captured the victory with a net total of three over par 75.

The 40 Plus is a series of events conducted for golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The field consisted of 77 players playing the Mount Pleasant Golf Club in Mount Pleasant, SC. This event was the second 40 Plus event the SCGA has conducted in 2022. The next 40 Plus event will be held on March 21st at The River Golf Club in North Augusta, SC.

The SCGA’s purpose is to promote, preserve and serve the game of golf. Founded in 1929, the SCGA is a non-profit organization made up of more than 270 member clubs and over 60,000 individual members. The SCGA annually conducts Statewide championships, one-day contests, a series of 40-plus events and the overseeing of USGA qualifiers in our State. Other Member services offered include GHIN – the USGA Handicap Computation System, Golf Genius - a Tournament Software System, Rules of Golf and Handicap education, USGA Course/Slope Ratings and Course measuring, Amateur Status information, the Palmetto Golfer Magazine, the MySCGA App, the official podcast of the SCGA - Off the Hosel and the SC Golf Hall of Fame.
