Eassy & Revis Claim Victory at Forty Plus Finale

Callawassie Island, S.C. – Chris Eassy (Simpsonville) & Jeremy Revis (Greenville) claimed top honors at the SCGA’s Forty Plus Series Finale event of 2021 that was contested over two days at the Callawassie Island Club, after the duo recorded a two-day better ball total of 11 under par 133. Geno Berchiatti (Greenville) and Robert Lutomski (Simpsonville) finished alone in second place after a final round score of 68 and tournament total of 136.

In the Tournament Net Division, Jeff Day (Blythewood) and John Obrien (Columbia) finished the event with a net total of 9 under par 135 to win the division. Joe Burns (Fort Mill) and Ron Ringley (Fort Mill) finished in second place with a two-day net total of 136.

In the Senior Gross Division, Eddie Hargett (Blythewood) and Dan Sullivan (Columbia) captured the victory after a final round score of 64 and a tournament total of 14 under par 130. Duff Wagner (Taylors) and Rich Weston (Pawleys Island) finished just five shots off the lead to finish with a gross total of 135.

In the Senior Net Division, Greg Schachner (Elgin) and Vince Williams (Columbia) finished atop the leaderboard with a two-day net total of 132.

The 40 Plus is a series of events conducted for golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The Forty Plus Finale is a two-day event that was conducted on Sunday and Monday at the Callawassie Island Club (Dogwood Course/Magnolia Course) in Callawassie Island, SC. This event is the final 40 Plus event the SCGA will conduct in 2021.

The SCGA, founded in 1929, is the governing body for amateur golf in South Carolina. As a non-profit organization, the SCGA’s purpose is to promote, preserve and serve the game of golf. Made up of more than 270 member clubs and more than 50,000 individual members, the SCGA annually conducts 21 SCGA statewide championships, one-day contests, eight USGA qualifiers, seven 40-plus tournaments and six special events. Other Member services offered include GHIN – the USGA Handicap Computation System, Golf Genius Tournament Management Software System and support, Rules of Golf and Handicap education, USGA Course/Slope Ratings and Course measuring, Amateur Status information, the Palmetto Golfer Magazine and the SC Golf Hall of Fame. The SCGA also houses the offices of the SC Junior Golf Foundation and SC Junior Golf Association in a combined effort to support junior golf and grow the game’s initiatives.
