Eassy & Revis Lead After Opening Round of Forty Plus Finale

Callawassie Island, S.C. - Teams across the state have gathered for the SCGA’s Forty Plus Finale at one of the lowcountry’s finest courses, the Callawassie Island Club.

Chris Eassy (Simpsonville) & Jeremy Revis (Greenville) currently lead the gross portion of the Tournament Division after the duo fired a seven under par round of 65. Three shots behind the leaders is the team of Geno Berchiatti (Greenville) & Robert Lutomski (Simpsonville) after an opening round of 68.

In the Tournament Net Division, Brian Kennedy (Woodruff) & Scott Smith (Spartanburg) are atop the leaderboard with a net total 66.

In the Senior Gross Division, Eddie Hargett (Blythewood) and Dan Sullivan (Columbia) lead after an opening round score of six under par 66.

In the Senior Net Division, Perrin Babb (Bishopville) & Tim Babb (Columbia) are atop the leaderboard with a net total of seven under par 65.

The 40 Plus is a series of events conducted for golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The Forty Plus Finale is a two-day event being conducted on Sunday and Monday at the Callawassie Island Club (Dogwood Course/Magnolia Course) in Callawassie Island, SC. The Final Round will begin on Monday with a 9:30 AM Shotgun.  This event is the final 40 Plus event the SCGA will conduct in 2021.

The SCGA, founded in 1929, is the governing body for amateur golf in South Carolina. As a non-profit organization, the SCGA’s purpose is to promote, preserve and serve the game of golf. Made up of more than 270 member clubs and more than 50,000 individual members, the SCGA annually conducts 21 SCGA statewide championships, one-day contests, eight USGA qualifiers, seven 40-plus tournaments and six special events. Other Member services offered include GHIN – the USGA Handicap Computation System, Golf Genius Tournament Management Software System and support, Rules of Golf and Handicap education, USGA Course/Slope Ratings and Course measuring, Amateur Status information, the Palmetto Golfer Magazine and the SC Golf Hall of Fame. The SCGA also houses the offices of the SC Junior Golf Foundation and SC Junior Golf Association in a combined effort to support junior golf and grow the game’s initiatives.
