Oliver Rotermund of Daniel Island finished two-under par 70 to officially lead the SCGA Amateur Championship after the second round was completed. After 36 holes he was eight-under par 136 for the tournament.

Henry Augenstein of Columbia posted a four-under round of 68 to hold solo second heading into round three. He was six-under 138 after 36 holes.

Zach Adams of Charleston sat in third carding one-under 71 for the round and five-under 139 overall once the second round was completed.

Round three of the 90th SCGA Amateur Championship began at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 7, 2021, off #1 and #10.

Seventy-three players made the cut for the final two rounds of the 90th SCGA Amateur Championship. The cut was based on the low 70 spots and ties after 36 holes.

Harry Reynolds of Greenville emerged as the round three leader posting three-under par 69 for the round. Overall, he is seven-under par 209 and holds a one stroke lead heading into the final round.

“I got off to a pretty good start today,” Reynolds said. “I had a birdie early and then obviously we had to stop because of the rain. I came out of the rain delay a little slow with a bogey, and then had a really nice back nine. I was two under on the back and didn’t have many mistakes. When I did miss greens, I was able to get it up and down, so I came in with a nice score of three-under. My plan going into tomorrow is to just stick to everything that’s been working and play free from the burden of expectations. I can only control what I can control and we’ll see what happens from there.”

Kyle Bearden of Barnwell, Michael Rials of Florence and Oliver Rotermund of Daniel Island all stand tied for second at six-under par 210 for the tournament.
