SCGA Four-Ball Quarterfinals Set at Musgrove Mill
 

The first round of Match Play began this morning at Musgrove Mill with 32 teams squaring off in sixteen different Four-Ball matches. Stroke Play Medalists Brent Delahoussaye and Charles Warren were in the morning’s first match off number ten tee and defeated the team of Doug Ramey and Dean Nance with a 3 & 2 victory. Defending champions Kyle Milner and Bryan Kelley were defeated by the 32nd seeded team of Duane Barnes and Benji McCall by a match total of 1 Up after 19 holes.

In the afternoon Round of 16 matches, Matt Mead and Jared Crane defeated the team of Barnes and McCall by a 1-Up total. After a grudge match that lasted 22 holes, the team of Jay McAllister and Michael Sims defeated the team of Brandon Coggins and Seth Taylor with a 1-Up Victory. The 4th seeded duo of Zander Briggs and Lleyton Renner defeated the team of Jon Mathias and Jamie Phillips with a dominant 6 & 5 victory. The brother duo of Austin Reeves and Crawford Reeves defeated the team of Brandon Twigg and Henry McGannon with a 1-Up win. Brent Delahoussaye and Charles Warren defeated the team of Jamie Lightsey and Tyler Tucker with a 4 & 3 victory. The team of Zachary Herold and Sam Jackson would go on to defeat Robbie Biershenk and Landon Hames with total of 4 & 2. The junior golf squad of Zach Adams and Jack Wofford continued their impressive SCGA Four-Ball campaign by posting a 3 & 2 victory over the two-time SCGA Four-Ball Champion team of Walt Todd, Jr. and Brandon Truesdale. Finally, the Limestone coach tandem of Zack Siefert and Cabrick Waters defeated the team of Josh Branyon and Blake Williamson with a 1-Up Total.

Quarterfinal matches will begin Saturday morning at 8.00 am with the Semifinals starting in the afternoon.

The 2021 SCGA Four-Ball Championship is one of 21 major championships conducted by the South Carolina Golf Association. The event is being played on the 6,779 yard, par 72 golf course at Musgrove Mill Golf Club in Clinton, South Carolina.

The SCGA, founded in 1929, is the governing body for amateur golf in South Carolina. As a non-profit organization, the SCGA’s purpose is to promote, preserve and serve the game of golf. Made up of more than 270 member clubs and more than 50,000 individual members, the SCGA annually conducts 21 SCGA statewide championships, 59 one-day contests, eight USGA qualifiers, seven 40-plus tournaments and six special events. Other Member services offered include GHIN – the USGA Handicap Computation System, Golf Genius Tournament Management Software System and support, Rules of Golf and Handicap education, USGA Course/Slope Ratings and Course measuring, Amateur Status information, the Palmetto Golfer Magazine and the SC Golf Hall of Fame. The SCGA also houses the offices of the SC Junior Golf Foundation and SC Junior Golf Association in a combined effort to support junior golf and grow the game’s initiatives.
