Collar and Hambly Claim Senior Better Ball Title

First Round leaders Bob Collar of Hilton Head and Dave Hambly of Bluffton combined to shoot a two-day total of 11-under par and take home the title in the 31^st Annual SCGA Senior Better Ball. The field avoided heavy rains for the second day in a row to get the Championship completed. The event was held at the 6,223 yard par 72 Santee Cooper Country Club located in Santee, South Carolina.

Collar started the day with two pars for the team on holes 1 and 2. Then Hambly contributed to the team with back to back birdies on the par three 3^rd and par five 4^th. Collar added a birdie of his own on the par four 5^th. Pars the rest of the way in gave the team a front side score of 3-under par 33. The teams back side started with a birdie on the 310 yard 10^th hole by Collar. The only bogey of the event for the team came on hole 12 a 337 yard par 4. Hambly followed this with a birdie on hole 14, and Collar added another on the par five 17^th. This completed their day with a score of 5-under par 67.

Finishing in second place, for the 3^rd time in a row, was Harry Benenhaley of Columbia and Ronald Callahan also of Columbia. The two fired a two-day score of 8-under par 136 which put them into 2^nd place by themselves. The team went out firing with birdies on their first 3 holes. Adding a birdie on the 9^th let them team turn with a score of 4-under par 32. They added 2 birdies on the back side to complete their 2^nd round score of 6-under par 66.
