SCGA Four-Ball Quarterfinals Set at Musgrove Mill

The first round of Match Play began Friday morning at Musgrove Mill with 32 teams squaring off in sixteen different Four-Ball matches. Stroke Play Medalists Zach Herold (Lexington) and Sam Jackson (West Columbia) defeated the team of Colt Martin and Jake Miller with a 5 & 4 victory. Defending champions Brent Delahoussaye (Greenville) and Charles Warren (Greenville) were defeated by the 32nd seeded team of Dean Nance (Greenville) and Doug Ramey (Greer) with a 2 & 1 result.  

In the afternoon Round of 16 matches, Cheney Connell (Blythewood) & Jon Mathias (Columbia) defeated the team of Nance & Ramey with a 1 Up victory. Hartsville natives Daniel Coker & Mitchell Vance defeated Josh Branyon (Honea Path) & Blake Williamson (Anderson) with a 4 & 3 result. Trevor Gerard (Hartsville) & Grant Sellers (McBee) would go on to defeat Allen Caldwell (West Ashley) & Cody Clepper (Sumter) 1 Up. David Dargan (Columbia) & Robert Dargan (Columbia) defeated the team of Weston Bell (Piedmont) & Robert Lutomski (Simpsonville) 2 & 1. Zach Herold & Sam Jackson would continue their dominant play to beat Jarret Grimes (Columbia) & John Obrien (Columbia) with a 4 & 3 victory. The two-time SCGA Four-Ball Champion team of Brandon Truesdale (Rock Hill) & Walt Todd (Greenville) were tortiousous with a 1 up win over Raymond Wooten (Clemson) & Mickey Plyler (Clemson). Chad Siefert (Greenville) & Colton Cale (Greenville) defeated Jay McAllister (Myrtle Beach) & Michael Sims (Lexington) 1 Up – 19 Holes. David Gibson (Lexington) & Lee Gronkiewicz (Columbia) would defeat Duane Barnes (Simpsonville) & Benji McCall (Greer) 1 Up.

Quarterfinal matches will begin Saturday morning at 8:00 am with the Semifinals starting in the afternoon.

The 2022 SCGA Four-Ball Championship is one of 21 major championships conducted by the South Carolina Golf Association. The event is being played on the 6,779 yard, par 72 golf course at Musgrove Mill Golf Club in Clinton, South Carolina.
