Eberhard and Edens Defend Super Senior Four-Ball Title

PARRIS ISLAND, SC   (May 18, 2023) – First Round leaders and defending champions, Tom Eberhard (Johns Island) and Bob Edens (Columbia) followed up their opening round of 63 with a final round score of three under par 69. The duo carded five birdies matched with two bogeys enroute to a one shot victory.

Finishing one shot off the lead was the team of Joe Hendrick (Chesterfield) and Mike Mahoney (Pawleys Island) as the duo finished with a final round score of 69 and tournament total of 11 under par 133.

 

In the Legends Division, Mike Weiner (Kiawah Island) and George Ackerman (Charleston) were victorious by one shot after posting a tournament total of 11 under par 133.
 

Finishing in solo second place was the team of Roger Page (Duncan) and Tim Pope (Spartanburg) with a score of ten under par 134. Two teams finished in a tie for third place with tournament totals of nine under par 135.

 

The 2023 SCGA Super Senior Four-Ball Championship was played at The Legends Golf Course at Parris Island which is located on Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in Parris Island, SC. The starting field consisted of 50 teams split into two divisions. The Championship Division and Legends Division was flighted based on Round One scores. The Championship Division consisted of players ages of 65-69 and was played to a yardage of 5,681 yards while the Legends Division consisted of players ages 70 and over, and played to a yardage of 5,325 yards. The format for the two days of competition was Four-Ball Stroke Play.
