Nineteen Qualify at Coosaw Creek to Advance to 92nd Amateur Championship

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC   (June 26, 2023) – Nineteen players shot a score of three over par 74 or better at Coosaw Creek Country Club (6,584 yards, Par 71, 72.3/137) in North Charleston, SC to qualify for the 92nd SCGA Amateur Championship. 

 

Boyd Downey (Hilton Head Island) claimed the medalist honors after an impressive round of four-under par 67.  

 

This qualifier was the first of four qualifying events for the 2023 SCGA Amateur Championship. The second qualifier will be held at Smithfields Country Club in Easley, SC on June 29, 2023.

 

The Amateur Championship will be played August 3-6, 2023, at Musgrove Mill Golf Club in Clinton, SC.
