The second wave of players returned to Musgrove Mill Golf Club this morning to resume round one of the 92nd SCGA Amateur Championship.

Chandler Mulkey of Johns Island fired an impressive first round score of nine-under par 63 to officially lead the Amateur Championship after the first round was completed.

“I just put the ball in the right spots off the tee,” Mulkey said. "That’s the key out here, you get the ball in the middle of the fairway, and you can score. I was four-under through eight starting today and then got off to another hot start hitting it to a foot on number nine. My putter just cooperated, and things just seemed to keep going in.”

Round two of the 92nd SCGA Amateur Championship began at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, August 4, 2023, off #1 and #10.

Rafe Reynolds of Greenville currently sits at the top of the leaderboard posting a second-round score of four-under par 68. Overall, he is eight-under par 136 for the tournament.
