Rafe Reynolds Leads into the Final Round of the 92nd SCGA Amateur Championship

CLINTON, SC (August 4, 2023) – Third round results of the 92nd SCGA Amateur Championship hosted by Musgrove Mill Golf Club in Clinton, SC on Saturday, August 5, 2023.

After the completion of round two this morning, Rafe Reynolds of Greenville was the official round two leader at eight-under par 136, overall.

 

65 players made the cut at 153 or better to advance to the final two rounds.

 

Round three of the 92nd SCGA Amateur Championship began at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 5, 2023 off #1 and #10.

 

Rafe Reynolds posted a round three score of three-under par 69 to maintain the lead heading into the final round tomorrow. Overall, he is 11-under par 205 for the tournament.

 

"I got off to a slow start today,” Reynolds said. “But I just kind of stayed patient and made three straight birdies on #15-#17 which was pretty much the difference of the whole round. I’m just going to keep trying to do what I’ve been doing, tomorrow.”

 

1990 Amateur Champion, Todd White of Spartanburg sits one-shot behind Reynolds, finishing the day with an overall score of 10-under par 206.

 

Garland Ferrell of Greenville and Chandler Mulkey of Johns Island sit T3, each posting overall scores of four-under par 212.

 

The final round of the 92nd SCGA Amateur Championship is set to begin at 8:00 A.M. off #1 and #10.
