Four Teams Tied Atop Leaderboard at 39th SCGA Players Four-Ball Championship

BLYTHEWOOD, SC (Sept. 9, 2023) –  Despite scattered rain throughout the day at the opening round of the 2023 SCGA Players Four-Ball Championship, four teams currently sit atop the leaderboard with opening rounds of six under par 66.

The teams of Henry Augenstein (Columbia) & Steve Paley (Columbia), Dani Ezelle (Taylors) & Josh Gallman (Boiling Springs), Weston Bell (Piedmont) & Robert Lutomski (Simpsonville), along with the team of Robert Dargan (Columbia) & John O’Brien (Columbia).

 

Five teams are tied for second one shot behind the leaders after posting scores of five under 67.

 

The field will be split into four flights for Sunday’s final round based on first round scores. First Round play will resume at 9:15 AM with one group still to finish due to a weather. The Final round will begin on Sunday as a shotgun start at 10:00 AM.

The 2023 SCGA Players Four-Ball Championship is being played at the par 72 – 6,855 yard Columbia Country Club Ridgewood & Tall Pines courses. The field consists of 60 two-man teams playing Best Ball format conducted over thirty-six holes. The Players Four-Ball Championship is in its 39th year of existence.
