Waldthausen Captures Victory at Forty Plus Individual Event

A beautiful day and a pristine golf course greeted players to the third SCGA Forty Plus Series Individual Event of 2024 at the Riverton Pointe Golf Club on Monday.

 

In the Tournament Division,  Kurt Waldthausen  (Simpsonville) claimed top honors with a gross score of three over par 75.  Scott Sullivan  (Blythewood) shot a gross score of three over par 75 but would finish in second place after a scorecard playoff with Waldthausen. In the Tournament Net Division,  Kurt Waldthausen  (Simpsonville) also finished atop the leaderboard with a net total of even par 72.

 

In the Senior Gross Division,  Boyd Downey  (Hilton Head Island) was victorious after an even par gross round of 72. In the Senior Net Division,  Boyd Downey  (Hilton Head Island) also finished atop the leaderboard with a net total of 72.

 

Mike Poe  (Hilton Head Island) took top gross honors in the Super Senior Gross Division after a round of two over par 74. Poe won the scorecard playoff over  Charlie Hall  (Hilton Head Island) to secure the division. In the Super Senior Net Division,  Donald Eubanks  (Mt. Pleasant) finished in first after a net round of 71.

 

The Forty Plus is a series of events conducted for golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The field consisted of 83 individuals playing Riverton Pointe Golf Club in Ridgeland, SC. This event was the third 40 Plus event the SCGA will conduct in 2024.
