Johnson Takes the Solo Lead After Round Two of the 66th Senior Championship

 

 

HILTON HEAD, SC   (May 10, 2024) – Second round results of the 66th SCGA Senior Championship, hosted by Moss Creek Golf Club in Bluffton, SC on Friday, May 10, 2024.

After multiple lightning delays, Yancey Johnson of Simpsonville has posted a second-round score of one-over par 73 to take the solo lead of the 66th SCGA Senior Championship. Overall, he is one-over par 145 for the tournament and holds a two-shot lead heading into the final round tomorrow.

 

Walter Todd Sr. of Laurens and Chris Culler of Camden both sit tied for second, finishing the second round with an overall score of three-over par 147.

 

The final round of the 66th Senior Championship will begin with a shotgun start this afternoon, Friday, May 10 at 2:15 PM. 60 players will compete in the final round after making the cut at 158 or better.

 

The 2024 SCGA Senior Championship is being played on the par 72 - 6,463 yard course at Moss Creek Golf Club in Bluffton, SC. The starting field consisted of 94 players over the age of 55. The cut has been made to the low 60 and ties after 36 holes. The Senior Championship is one of 21 Major Championships conducted annually by the South Carolina Golf Association.
