
The Carolina Country Club Welcomes the 94th SCGA Amateur Championship
SPARTANBURG, SC (July 21, 2025) - For the first time in its history, The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, SC, will host the 94th SCGA Amateur Championship. With its challenging layout, the course will be a true test for South Carolina’s top amateurs. Over the years, the championship has showcased some of the state’s best talents, including Lucas Glover, D.J. Trahan, Carson Young, and Andrew Novak.
Zach Adams of Charleston, who captured the 2024 Amateur title at the Country Club of Charleston with a score of 268 (-16), will return this week to defend his title. The 2025 SCGA Amateur Champion will also earn an automatic exemption into the 2025 U.S. Amateur Championship at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, CA.
The 2025 SCGA Amateur Championship field is comprised of 148 top-ranked golfers in South Carolina who either qualified for their position or earned an exemption based on previous accomplishments.
94th SCGA Amateur Championship Format:
72 holes of individual stroke play.
The field will be cut to the low 60 players and ties after 36 holes.
The lowest score for 72 holes of stroke play will determine the Champion.
The first round of the 94th SCGA Amateur Championship begins Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 8:00 A.M. off #1 and #10.
