Florence, SC (August 2-3, 2025) – Team South Carolina emerged victorious in the 50th edition of the GA–SC Junior Challenge Matches, defeating Georgia 9.5 to 6.5 at Florence Country Club.

On Saturday, South Carolina came out strong, winning five of the eight singles matches to take a 5–3 lead. Hudson Hatch defeated Brooks Urquhart 2 up, Banks Steele earned a 2 up victory over Patrick Delaney, and Cade Kriscunas took down Mason Pate 4&3. Dylan Park edged out Rob Fruitticher 1 up, while Bennett Scaletta secured a 3&1 win over Grant Odom. Despite hard-fought efforts, Connor Wolfe, Dawson Szabo, and Price Roof each dropped their matches to their Georgia opponents.

On Sunday, South Carolina added another 4.5 points to seal the win. Connor Wolfe bounced back with a 4&3 win, Banks Steele earned his second point of the weekend with a 3&2 victory, and Cade Kriscunas outlasted his opponent 2&1. Bennett Scaletta closed strong with a 4&3 win, and Dylan Park halved his match to contribute a crucial half-point. Georgia claimed three matches in the final round, but South Carolina’s early lead proved too much to overcome.

Since the match play format began in 1995, Georgia leads the overall series with 26 victories to South Carolina’s 20.
