29th SCGA Senior Four-Ball Championship

Camden, SC
March 28-29, 2022

Cloninger and King Crowned Champions of the 29th Senior Four-Ball Championship

Rick Cloninger of Rock Hill and Kevin King of Bluffton went low in the final round posting an impressive eight-under par 62 to force them into a playoff with first round leaders, Max Fain of Boiling Springs and Yancey Johnson of Simpsonville. Team Cloninger/King each made par on the third hole of the sudden death playoff to take home the 29th Annual Senior Four-Ball title.

Team Cloninger/King had eight birdies and went bogey free in the final round today.

“We knew we had to make a lot of birdies today,” said Cloninger. “We birdied four holes in a row which gave us a good feeling.”

“We were lucky on the playoff,” said King. “Rick stripped it down the middle and then I had an easy two putt which wasn't difficult since it was a flat level putt.”

“There is nothing like a win,” Cloninger said. “This is such a good way to start the year and hopefully we can keep it going from here.”

Team Fain/Johnson took home second place and team Joe Hendrick of Chesterfield and Daran Womack of Aiken finished in third posting an overall score of nine-under par 131.
