14th Annual SCGA Harry Wilson Super Senior Championship
Florence Country Club – Florence, SC
October 20-21, 2020

Delcher Captures Victory at Super Senior Championship

Duke Delcher (Bluffton) shot a final round score of one under par 70 for a two-day total of even par 142 to win the 14th Annual Harry Wilson Super Senior Championship at Florence Country Club. Rick Cobb (Taylors) and John Dennis (Greenville) finished in a two-way tie second place each finishing with tournament totals of 145.

Starting the final round two strokes behind the first-round leaders, Delcher needed to play his final round with as little error as possible to keep himself into contention while allowing his playing competitors to make the mistakes. Putting together a final round consisting of eleven pars, four birdies, and three bogies all but sealed the title for Delcher’s first SCGA Super Senior Championship victory. The 2017 SCGA Super Senior Champion, Rick Cobb, made quiet the run for another victory as he finished in second after a low second round score of three under par 68.

In the Legends Division, Mike Weiner (Kiawah Island) was victorious after making birdie on the second playoff hole against Carey Hite (Columbia) and David Crocker (Bluffton). All three players finished the tournament with totals of three over par 145.

The Super Senior Championship consisted of two divisions. The Championship division (Age 65-69) was split into three flights by first round scores: First Flight (70-77), Second Flight (78-82), and Third Flight (83 & Over). The Legends Division (Age 70 & Over) was split into three flights by first round scores: First Flight (68-76) and Second Flight (78-80), and Third Flight (81 & Over).
