Sill and Stephens Fight To Senior Four-Ball Victory

Beginning their day trailing by three strokes, Stan Sill (Spartanburg) and Jeff Stephens (Ware Shoals) needed a flawless final round of golf to overcome the first round co-leaders of Eddie Hargett (Blythewood) and Walter Todd (Laurens) along with Mike Daniels (Murrells Inlet) and Rich Weston (Pawleys Island). Providing a clean scorecard with no bogeys, eight birdies, and 10 pars proved just enough to capture the 2020 SCGA Senior Four-Ball Championship by two strokes at Orangeburg Country Club in Orangeburg, SC. As the first round co-leaders completed solid final rounds of three under par 69, it proved no match for a team that played hot for the final 18 holes of competition.

Finishing in three-way tie for second were the teams of Eddie Hargett and Walter Todd, Mike Daniels and Rich Weston, and the duo of Jack Brown (Greer) and Tim Pope (Spartanburg). Brown and Pope provided their own fireworks for the final round, firing a final round score of 66 to catapult themselves in the leaderboard.

Winning the First Flight were John Dennis (Greenville) and Frank Wrenn (Greenville) who finished with a final round total of 136.  William Rabon (Elgin) and Eddie Mirmow (Lexington) took the top honors in the Second Flight with a score of 142.
