Lee & Twilley Complete Victory at SCGA Lefty-Righty Championship

Heading into the final round with a three shot lead over the defending SCGA Lefty-Righty Championship winners, the team of Brian Lee (Blythewood) & Ben Twilley (Columbia) battled just enough to capture the 2020 SCGA Lefty-Righty Championship with a final round score of six under par 66 and a tournament total of 16 under par 136. As the team of Lee & Twilley looked to be in total control, leading by six strokes through the 16th hole, a costly double on the par three 17th hole, found themselves just three strokes ahead of the 2019 Lefty-Righty Champion team of Daniel Ezelle (Taylors) and Jeremy Revis (Greenville) after an Ezelle & Revis birdie. After a near hole out for double eagle by Revis on the Par-Five 18th hole that led to an eventual eagle, the team of Lee & Twilley concluded their victory with a birdie of their own to seal the victory over last years champions in superb fashion.

In Lefthanders competition, Reid Bedell (Spartanburg) was victorious after another repetitive round of four under par 66 and tournament total of eight under par 136. Brian Lee (Blythewood) finished alone in second place after a final round score of three of par 69 for a tournament score of 141.

In the Senior Lefty-Righty competition, Ron Clontz (Taylors) & Duff Wagner (Greer) captured the victory with a tournament total of eight under par 136. Clontz and Wagner provided a stellar five under par final round of 67 to catapult them to the winners circle over first round leaders Mike Daniels (Murrells Inlet) and John Long (Murrells Inlet). Daniels and Long fired an applaudable final round score of two under par round of 70, but fell one stroke shy of the victory, finishing in a tie for second with the team of Steve Horton (Moncks Corner) and Rich Weston (Pawleys Island).

In Senior Lefthanders competition, Rich Weston (Pawleys Island) claimed top honor for a third time after a two-day total of two over par 146, while Mike Daniels (Murrells Inlet) placed in second with a tournament total of 151.
