Daniels & Fisk Go Wire to Wire for Victory

Michael Daniels & Bob Fisk completed their wire to wire victory at the 4^th Annual SCGA Super Senior Four-Ball Championship with a final round 68 for a tournament total of 12 under par 130. Coming up just shy of a fourth consecutive SCGA Super Senior Four-Ball victory was the dominant duo of George Ackerman & Mike Weiner who finished in a tie for second with the team of Martin Gerr & Jim Stevenson, with each team respectfully finishing with tournament totals of 10 under par 132. Finishing in a two way tie for fourth was the teams of Bob Buie & Charlie Moore and the 2012 SCGA Senior Four-Ball Champions Bob Varn & Bob Rickman posting tournament totals of 133.

Starting the day with a two shot lead, Daniels & Fisk played consistent golf over eighteen holes to assure themselves the victory. The compilation of 13 pars and one lone bogey on the par 4 – sixteenth hole, along with four birdies throughout the round, proved to be just enough to hold on to their first SCGA Super Senior Four-Ball victory.  

In the Championship Division Second Flight, Mike Calkins & Ron Callahan were victorious after finishing with a final round score of 66 and tournament total of 7 under par 135. The team of Niles Brancati & William Weeks finished in solo second with a two day total of 136.

The Legends Division was won by first round leaders Bill McDougall & Carey Hite after the duo finished with a tournament total of 12 under par 130. Finishing in a two way tie for second was the team of Lynn Martin & Paul Manikowski along with the team of Jamie Frazier & Lanny Correll, with each team finishing with two round totals of 132.

The 2018 SCGA Super Senior Four-Ball Championship was played at the Cobblestone Park Golf Club on the Garnet and Black nines.  The starting field consisted of 42 teams split into two divisions. The Championship Division was flighted based on Round One scores. The Championship Division consisted of players ages of 65-69 that played to a yardage of 5,633 yards while the Legends Division consisted of players ages 70 and over that played to a yardage of 5,466 yards. The format for the two days of competition is Four-Ball Stroke Play.
