Ackerman & Weiner Capture First Annual Event Title
George Ackerman & Mike Weiner took control of the reigns to win the 1st Annual SCGA Senior Senior Four-Ball Championship at The Plantation Course at Edisto with a final round of 66 for a tournament total of 9 under par 131.
Ackerman (Charleston) & Weiner (Kiawah Island) came out of the gate running, accumulating five birdies in their first nine holes. With one lone bogey on the back nine, the duo was still able to capture the championship by four strokes ahead of the charging team of Bob Rickman & Bob Varn. After an opening round of 70, Rickman & Varn fired back with the low round of the day 65 to finish with a tournament total of 5 under par 135 to finish in second place.
Winning the Championship Division Second Flight were Robert Blankenheim & Jim Keighley with a score of 138.
In the Legends Division, Will Fuller & Rick Thompson put together two rounds of 67 for a score of 134 to take top honors.
