51st Four Ball Championship

Taylor and Hartin Survive Long Week

Cory Taylor & Mike Hartin are your 2014 SCGA Four Ball Champions as they defeated Walt Todd & Brandon Truesdale 2&1 in the Final Match at the Country Club of Spartanburg.

It was a match for the ages as both teams came out firing, making birdies and an eagle in the first five holes that left the 2012 Champions of Walt Todd and Brandon Truesdale 1up at that point. A disappointing bogey on the long par three 6th hole put the match back at square, and that’s when Cory Taylor and Mike Hartin grabbed their lead that they would never give up. Taylor and Hartin went on to win the next two holes with birdies before giving one back on the 9th hole. With both teams making bogey on the par four 10th hole, birdie was not enough for Todd & Truesdale on the short 11th as Taylor managed to win the hole with an eagle two to go back up 2. A lead the stroke play Medalist would not give back. After trading pars and birdies coming in, Todd and Truesdale ran out of holes and Cory Taylor and Mike Hartin were declared Champions. When all the dust settled, Taylor and Hartin were eight under for the day and Todd and Truesdale were seven under.
