Champions Catch Lightning in a Bottle
The team of Tyler Macolly and Matt Talley caught “Lightning in a Bottle” birding the last six holes they played to shoot a final round of 66 and a tournament total of 135 to win the 2011 SCGA Lefty Righty Championship. The Spartanburg duo beat out three other teams by one shot including Defending Champions, Ron Clontz and Todd Hendley. In the Senior Division of the Lefty Righty, Jonathan Evans and Rick Dresel captured the first year event with a score of 139.
In the Left Handers Championship, Defending Champion Brent Roof shot rounds of 68-74 to once again take the title. In the Senior Division Jonathan Evans shot a total of 153 to win by seven shots.
The 2011 SCGA Lefty Righty / Lefthanders Championship is one of 19 major championships conducted by the South Carolina Golf Association. The 35th Annual event was played on the 6,320 yard, par 72 golf course at Lake Marion Golf Club in Santee, SC.
