4TH ANNUAL SUPER SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Shimmin Holds on for Victory
Gary Shimmin of Okatie continued his stellar play shooting a final round three under par 68 and a two day total of 138 to claim the 4th Annual Super Senior Championship. The 65 year old Shimmin carded five birdies against only two bogies to hold off Ben Shadoan from Taylors by four shots.
The 4th Annual SCGA Super Senior Championship was played on the par 71 – 5,950 yard Florence Country Club in Florence, SC. The event was created to honor the 41 years of service by Anderson’s Harry Wilson to the SCGA. The field consisted of 66 individuals over the age of 65 years old scheduled to play a stroke play format conducted over thirty six holes. The Super Senior Championship is one of 19 Major Championships conducted annually by the South Carolina Golf Association.
