23rd Lefty Righty & 28th Lefthanders Championship

Sill Sweeps
Santee: Left hander Stan Sill posted an eight-under-par 136 to win the South Carolina Golf Association's Left Handers Championship. With the help of his partner, right hander Arthur Yex, Sill's team claimed the Lefty-Righty Championship as well. The duel event was conducted June 26- 27, 1999 at Lake Marion Golf Course.

Sill posted a pair of four under 68's on his own ball. This was the Spartanburg resident's ninth Left Handers title. The three-time Defending Champion's other titles came in:‘82, ‘83, ‘85, ‘86,  ‘94, ‘96, ‘97 and ‘98.

Sill said that year was special, "After finishing as runner-up the past two years in the team competition, it was great to win with my best friend."
