Gerard and Sellers Triumphant at 2022 SCGA Four-Ball Championship

Trevor Gerard (Hartsville) and Grant Sellers (McBee) are the 2022 SCGA Four-Ball Champions after a 4 & 3 win over the two-time Four-Ball Champion team of Walt Todd, Jr. (Greenville) and Brandon Truesdale (Rock Hill) at Musgrove Mill Golf Club in Clinton, SC.

As the first two holes of the match would fall as a tie, the team of Todd and Truesdale would strike first with a Truesdale birdie on the Par 5 – 3rd Hole. Gerard and Sellers would then bring the match back to a tie after a Grant Sellers par on the Par 4 – 4th hole, as the rest of the group would provide bogies. The rest of the front nine continued as all pars for both teams which resulted in a tie match through the nine holes. After heading to the to the back nine of Musgrove Mill, both teams would yet again split holes 10 and 11. The 4th seeded team of Gerard and Sellers would then click for the next four holes as Francis Marion University golfer Grant Sellers would provide birdies on holes 12-15 to claim the 4&3 victory over Todd and Truesdale.

After the victory, Sellers would say, “I told Trevor tournaments usually start on the back nine on Sunday, I lipped out 10 and lipped out on 11, then went 12 through 15 to birdie out”.
