A field of 43 sides began the day competing for two qualifying spots and two alternate positions in the 2027 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship, which will be conducted May 22–26, 2027, at Erin Hills in Erin, Wisconsin.
Monday morning’s start was delayed 90 minutes due to lightning in the area.
The sides of Bennett Scaletta (Belton, S.C.) and Connor Wolfe (Blythewood, S.C.), along with Christian Sease (Newberry, Fla.) and Jordan Sease (Columbia, S.C.), have qualified for the 2027 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship following Monday’s qualifier at Dataw Island Club’s Cotton Dike Course (6,849 yards, par 72).
Scaletta and Wolfe earned medalist honors with a stellar 13-under-par round of 59 to secure one of the two available qualifying spots.
The St. Simons Island duo of Scott Wolfes and Henry Mabbett earned first-alternate honors, while Austin Langdale (Easley, S.C.) and Michael Sims (Lexington, S.C.) secured the second-alternate position. The alternate order was determined following an eight-hole playoff.
This qualifier was conducted by the South Carolina Golf Association on behalf of the United States Golf Association and the Carolinas Golf Association.
