Herold and Burkhart Claim Wire-to-Wire Players Four-Ball Title

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. – Zachary Herold of Lexington and Dane Burkhart of Aiken went wire-to-wire in this year’s edition of the Players Four-Ball Championship, firing rounds of 65 and 67 to secure the championship by two shots. The side notched 14 birdies over two days to finish at twelve-under par. Finishing two shots behind were Connor Fahey of Wellford and Jake Miller of Anderson at ten-under-par.

In the First Flight, Michael Sims (Lexington) and Zach McLain (Gilbert) also held onto their flight lead and won after rounds of 72 and 69 gave them a three-under-par finish.

In the Second Flight, Travis Smith and Jordan Jay, both from Greenwood, vaulted themselves into first place after their even-par round of 72 today gave them a four-over-par finish. The side’s late birdie on hole #10 gave them a cushion to finish atop the flight.

The field was split into three flights based on first round scores.
